Our Parks

We invite you to visit these three beautiful and historic state parks in Franklin County, Florida

Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park, named after a prominent Apalachicola dentist and long-time Franklin County Commissioner, offers something special for every beach lover, bird watcher, and outdoor enthusiast.

The stately Orman House, centerpiece of the Orman House Historic State Park, is currently closed for a massive $1.6 million renovation which will return the Federal and Greek Revival architectural gem to her 19th-century glory.

John Gorrie, inventor and physician, was raised in South Carolina and graduated from medical school in New York before moving to the flourishing cotton port of Apalachicola to practice medicine in 1833.
