Your Support Will Enhance, Improve and Preserve Our Parks for Future Generations
Our organization is made up of park volunteers and people like you who have a love of our state parks and a desire to support their recreational, environmental and economic value to the community. As a member of our organization, you will be promoting the mission of the Florida Park Service to preserve and protect our parks’ natural and cultural resources and to provide recreational opportunities to visitors. Our parks offer many volunteer options – from light maintenance projects to garden enhancements and care.
The Friends provide support for the parks in many ways. We lend muscle to work projects like building boardwalks and weeding gardens; we help sponsor special events and educational activities like John Gorrie Ice Days in Apalachicola; we promote beach access with the purchase of sand-friendly wheelchairs; we partner with the Franklin County School woodshop to build picnic tables for the parks; we apply for grants to assist with special projects.
